Aiming for full translations with 2.0.3

As many already know, Zabbix is translated in many languages, better in some, worse in others. With all the improvements that have happened to the translation framework and processes, including moving to gettext and recent introduction of string freeze, it seems like a good time to set some goals. How about getting as many translations as possible to 100% for 2.0.3?

Looking at the Zabbix 2.0 language list, we can see that there are 5 translations that could meet this goal fairly easily:

  • American English (complete, unsurprisingly)
  • Russian (complete)
  • Chinese (Taiwan) (99% complete)
  • Japanese (98% complete)
  • Greek (95% complete)

Two following contenders are German (81%) and Ukrainian (79%). The following languages might have a harder time getting up there, with French at 69% and Polish at 63%. All others are below 50%.

Can any of them join the “Top 5″? We’ll see that soon enough :)
