With the release of Zabbix 3.0 we are keeping up with the times and meeting the needs of users, by introducing personalized maps, screens and slide shows, with the ability to share them with other users and user groups.
Flexibility of Screens, Maps and Slideshows
What may be important for one person may be irrelevant for other, and thus, sometimes you need to display separate information for various Zabbix users, or to share data views with your co-workers. In previous Zabbix versions administrators created a standard set of configuration for all users, however in Zabbix 3.0 users have the power to decide for themselves what visualization options to enable and use.
If you and your colleague have different opinions on what is important, no worries. Management of maps, screens and slideshows has been moved out of the configuration menu and into the monitoring menu thus making them available for every user role of Zabbix 3.0.
No more anonymous entities! Created items now have an owner and if you are feeling selfish and like to keep everything to yourself, you can switch sharing option to private and no one will ever see your screens, maps or slideshows (except for administrators, of course). Or choose to share your work environment with a colleague or even grant them full access to your tools, enabling you to collaborate and work together more efficiently.
