As many already know, Zabbix is translated in many languages, better in some, worse in others. With all the improvements that have happened to the translation framework and processes, including moving to gettext and recent introduction of string freeze, it seems like a good time to set some goals. How about getting as many translations as possible to 100% for 2.0.3?
Looking at the Zabbix 2.0 language list, we can see that there are 5 translations that could meet this goal fairly easily:
- American English (complete, unsurprisingly)
- Russian (complete)
- Chinese (Taiwan) (99% complete)
- Japanese (98% complete)
- Greek (95% complete)
Two following contenders are German (81%) and Ukrainian (79%). The following languages might have a harder time getting up there, with French at 69% and Polish at 63%. All others are below 50%.
Can any of them join the “Top 5”? We’ll see that soon enough 🙂
ahhh, it’s time !
😀
Just tried to input some translations and it didnt work. How can I register at pootle?
read please here https://zabbix.org/wiki/Translating_Zabbix
thanks for your interest. we didn’t really have lots of documentation on how to get started with translations, so i quickly put something together – let me know whether https://zabbix.org/wiki/Translating_Zabbix#Translating_frontend is understandable 🙂
of course, it should be noted that the current numbers in pootle do not match anymore, translations are being improved already 🙂
Why I’m not wondering why French has 69 %?
because it’s friday ?
bum cha-ching
Aaaaaaand French is in the Top 4 🙂
up to 100% in less than a day… Fridays are not only for 69s 🙂
I would like to translate the hungarian gui.
I read the
https://zabbix.org/wiki/Translating_Zabbix but it is not clear.
It says: log into Pootle. But how ??
Can you help me ?
